ABOUT US

Sequoia Therapeutics is a clinician-led practice focused on thoughtful, structured, and clinically grounded therapy. Our work supports individuals, couples, and families navigating a range of concerns, from everyday challenges to more complex or longstanding patterns.

Our clinicians bring diverse experience across relational work, life transitions, and mental health concerns, and each offers an approach tailored to their training, experience, and areas of focus.

Sequoia Therapeutics is led by Britta West, Clinical Director and developer of FIIT (Functional Insight and Integration Therapy), a specialized clinical modality designed for more structured, in-depth therapeutic work. FIIT is available exclusively through Britta’s practice.

Across all services, we prioritize clarity, consistency, and meaningful therapeutic progress, while supporting clients in finding the right fit for their needs.

Clinical Director

Developer of FIIT (Functional Insight and Integration Therapy)

Providing specialized psychotherapy with advanced clinical work for complex presentations.

Britta West is the Clinical Director of Sequoia Therapeutics and the developer of FIIT (Functional Insight and Integration Therapy), a specialized clinical modality designed for structured, in-depth therapeutic work.

Her work spans direct clinical practice, clinical supervision, and systems-level consultation, with a focus on complex relational patterns, family systems, and presentations requiring a higher level of clinical clarity, direction, and precision. She works with individuals, couples, and families navigating concerns that are often longstanding, multifaceted, or resistant to change through more traditional approaches.

Britta has held leadership roles within the profession, including service on the Board of Directors of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, where she contributed to the advancement of standards, professional practice, and the development of the field.

In addition to her clinical work, she consults with clinicians and organizations on case complexity, clinical decision-making, and practice development. Her work reflects an integrated approach that bridges direct care, supervision, and broader systems-level thinking, with an emphasis on clarity, structure, and clinically grounded decision-making.

FIIT was developed to support a more focused and intentional therapeutic process, particularly in cases where greater direction and depth are required. This work is well suited to clients seeking meaningful and sustained change, and who benefit from a more structured, clinically guided approach.

Clients who work with Britta are often seeking to better understand and shift persistent patterns, strengthen relational functioning, and move toward more stable and intentional ways of engaging in their lives and relationships.
